V. Raymond Thiel

Surrounded by his children and his wife, Raymond Thiel, age 78, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, and returned home to his parents, sister, and brother. Ray was born on May 26, 1943, in Ogden, Utah to Nedra Williams and Vincent Thiel. Ray lived in Northern Utah all of his life. He was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School.

He worked for Hill Air Force Base starting as Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker and ended his career as a Logistics Supervisor. Ray was able to travel to many places for TDY and was a natural leader.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in various Church callings. He loved Family History and learning about his heritage.
Ray always had a willingness to help anyone, anytime they needed help. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix. Ray enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb; he loved to share that knowledge with others. He enjoyed bowling with his children, camping, riding his Harley, and watching the Yankees.
He will be missed by all who knew him especially his children: Tracee (Jeff) Kemp, of South Ogden; Chris (Carley) Thiel, of Hooper; Doug (Stacy) Thiel of Irvine California; Jared Thiel of Hooper; 12 Grandchildren, and four Great-Grand Children.
Graveside services will be held at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
