Val D. Hale
February 17, 1934 ~ April 22, 2017
Val D Hale, age 83, of South Ogden, Utah, dear husband, father and grandfather passed away on April 22, 2017, of causes incident to age.
Val was born in Ogden, Utah, on February 17, 1934, the son of Lewis and Anna (Gailey) Hale. He attended Weber High School. Val married Kay (Ward) on June 26, 1954; they were married 62 wonderful years. Val and Kay were deeply in love and you would never see one without the other. Val was proud to support his country as a war veteran and served in the Army during the Korean War. Val retired from South Ogden City after 30 years as a city building inspector. Val was a Charter Member of the Roy Fire Department.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, ATV trail riding and traveling. He especially enjoyed his summers at Sourdough Ranch and winters at Beaver Dam, AZ. He was an avid cyclist and won several medals at the senior games. He taught hunter safety for many years. He was a volunteer for the Division of Wildlife Services. He was a great dad and grandfather always there to lend a helping hand telling stories of family history and genealogy along with a quick joke or two.
Val is survived by his wife, Kay; 2 children: Kie (Cindy), Del (Kim). He leaves behind 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also, his brother Seth and his sister Alana.
Val is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Anna three sisters: Laurene, Gaylene and Margie; and one brother Ernie.

Services will be held on Friday April 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah

Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
