Our sweet mother, Veda Judkins Ferguson, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born on September 9, 1921 to LeRoy and Luella Judkins and grew up in Ogden and North Ogden graduating from Weber High School. On December 6, 1941 she married Verl Jackson Ferguson. They settled in Ogden and had five children: Verla (Bill) Austin, St. George, UT., Barbara (Ron) Mau, Lompoc, CA., SannDee Stowell (Kent) Lindquist, Ogden, Pat (Steve) Songer, Huntsville, UT., and Michael (Lynda) Ferguson, Twin Fall, ID. From that lineage came 20 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-granchildren. Mom was a champion golfer. She was the Ogden City Ladies Champion nine times and the Ogden Golf & Country Club Champion thirteen times with several other prestigious titles to her name. Everyone loved playing with her because she was so gracious except maybe our dad when she beat him. She was a wonderful mother and a good friend. We will miss her quick wit and exuberance for breaking into song. She was preceded in death by our father, Verl Ferguson our brother, Michael, and her younger siblings: Dean, Eunice, Shirley and Margaret. Funeral Serivces will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT 84403. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
