Venna L DeCora, age 89, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 5, 2015. Venna was born to John Jacobsen and Naomi Durrant on August 16, 1925 in Ogden, Utah. She and her brother John lived with their parents in West Ogden. Venna married Albert M. Bouwhuis August 24, 1949. Venna and Albert had five children: Sterling (Barb) Bouwhuis, Kevin (Sarah) Bouwhuis, Lynnette (Brett) Palmer, Myles (Lisa) Bouwhuis and Kyle (Moana) Bouwhuis. Venna and Albert were later divorced. Venna married Carl DeCora in 1977. She and Carl traveled extensively, enjoying the many beautiful sites of the southwest. Venna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life, serving as an LDS missionary in the Des Moines, Iowa Northern States Mission from 1946 to 1948. Venna was an accomplished Administrative Assistant finishing her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Economist of Zions Bank. Venna spent her retirement years living in North Salt Lake and then at Three Links Tower in Ogden, Utah. She made many friends amongst the residents and enjoyed spirited games of Pinochle and Hearts. She enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice. She will be missed at the family Christmas party when we sing the carols. Vennas final years were made richer by the presence of her children, 10 Grandchildren and17 Great-Grandchildren to whom she was devoted.
