Vera "Jean" Owens, loving Mother, Daughter and Grandmother passed away December 31, 2018. Jean was born September 5, 1937. She grew up in Ogden Utah with parents Virginia and Alfred Allee and brother Larry Whitney. Jean graduated from Ogden High School. She married Ernest F. Wilson in 1957 and they had daughters Diane and Marilyn. They later divorced, and Jean married the love of her life, Harold Dale Owens. They spent many years together living in Ogden, Ut, Grants Pass, OR and Southern, CA. They both enjoyed boating, fishing, bowling and hunting. They also loved the ocean and visiting Catalina Island. Jean was an outstanding executive secretary and an impeccable typist. She worked for several companies throughout her career finally retiring from IRS after 21 years. Jean received many awards for her accomplishments and was very well liked and respected for her constant willingness to help others and her strong work ethic. Mom loved to read investigative mysteries, loved sitting at the beach listening to the ocean and most of all spending time with her grandchildren with whom she was lovingly known as Grandma Jeanie. She was always the sweetest, gentlest, kindest, most understanding person right up to her passing. Jean is survived by her brother Larry, her daughters Diane "Doug" McCann, Marilyn Barker, stepdaughters Linda, Diane (Rene) and Beverly, ten Grandchildren, and seven Great Grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold Dale Owens, her parents and grandson H. Conway Morris IV. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Stonehenge of Ogden for their loving care.
