Vernal Schwitzer passed away at the young age of 83. He was the son of George and Alida Schwitzer. He married Rachel Ann Carpenter November 11, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vern loved bowling, camping going to Wendover and Jackpot for a little gambling and enjoyed a beer or two with the Schwitzer clan around the BBQ. He worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 33 years. He built his own home in Ogden, (West Haven) with the help of his wife, brothers and sister-in-laws. Vern helped raise 2 children: Donna Salerno of South Ogden, Richard Atwood, Arizona. He is also survived by: 2 grandchildren, Rikkie Coley, Brian Nicholls, 1 great grandchild, Kennedy Coley, his brother, George Schwitzer of Evanston, Wyoming, 11 nieces and nephews who he loved very much and a special niece who spoiled Vern any time she could. Vern was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Francis Clarence Nelson, Leona George Gomm, Lucy Doral Roueche, Edith DeMar Bradshaw and 2 brothers: Vearl and Ruby Schwitzer and John and Judy Schwitzer.As for myself (his wife) I will miss the gentle man who I love dearly. Graveside Services for Vern will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
