Vernon Garth Taylor's Obituary

Vernon Garth Taylor, 85, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. Garth was born February 6, 1933, to Vernon E. Taylor and Eva Hillyard Taylor, in Ogden, Utah. Garth graduated from Logan High School and Weber State University. He married Beth Tingey in 1953 in the Logan Temple; they had two daughters and were later divorced. He married Julia May Brownson, November 17, 1961, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Garth excelled in sports in High School. He played football, basketball, swam and completed in track & field. He served four years in the USAF. Returning to Ogden after the service he went to work for Ogden Ford Sales. He opened Taylors Auto Service with his brother. He enjoyed many successful years working until he retired April 2008. Garth remained an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, his entire life. He served as a High Priest in the Burch Creek 5th Ward and served in many callings. He always stood as an example to his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Garth is survived by his wife Julia May Taylor, daughters Charlotte (Harold) Finch, Candy Le (Gary) Taub, Penny (Steve) Farlow, Dina (Brian) Blue, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents. A family gathering will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 12:00 noon at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403.
