IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia
Frazier
November 13, 1936 – May 30, 2025
Virginia Annie Hardy Frazier, known affectionately as Ginny to her friends and family, passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah, on May 30, 2025 leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and service. Born on November 13, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to parents Martin Church Hardy and Annie May Watson Hardy, Virginia was a beacon of kindness and gentleness throughout her 88 years of life.
Virginia's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Farmington and Kaysville where she attended Davis High School, laying the foundation for her lifelong love of learning. Her pursuit of education continued at Utah State University, further shaping the insightful and knowledgeable woman she became.
Virginia's professional life was marked by a significant achievement, as she was one of the first two women to be promoted to a GS-12 level at Hill Air Force Base. During her 30-year tenure as a budget analyst, Virginia's selfless work ethic and pioneering spirit paved the way for many women who would follow in her footsteps.
Her marriage to Darrell Elmer Frazier was a testament to enduring love, spanning 59 wonderful years until his passing. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. Virginia's role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one she cherished deeply. She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Marie Frazier-Snyder and Marci Frazier (Michael) Ridl; her 4 grandchildren, Justin Franklin Frazier, Clark Austin Snyder (Danielle), Annie Deck (Taylor), Baylee ( Scott) Ridl; one great-grandson, Bellamy Deck; and one beloved dog Eadie.
Virginia's sister, Catherine Willey, also remains to honor her memory.
Virginia was preceded in death not only by her husband Darrell but also by her parents and seven siblings: Elizabeth Hamblin, Eva Hamblin, Josephine Taylor, Raymond Hardy, Oleen Baker, Amos Hardy, and Heber Hardy. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her throughout her life.
One of Virginia's greatest passions was Family History Work (Genealogy). Her dedication to tracing and connecting her ancestral lines was not just a hobby but a calling. Virginia's efforts in this realm led to the discovery that she was a "Daughter of the Revolution" (DAR), a distinction that brought her immense pride. Her meticulous research and commitment to her family's history ensured that hundreds of ancestors were honored with their Temple Ordinances, creating a lasting heritage for generations to come.
Virginia's character was the epitome of kindness, selflessness, and gentleness. These attributes were the cornerstones of her life and touched all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family, as they remember the love and wisdom she imparted.
As we bid farewell to Virginia Annie Hardy Frazier, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the lives of so many. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories, lessons, her comforting home-style cooking, lifelong gathering of recipes, and the love she shared. Virginia's journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of her life's work and the warmth of her spirit will endure forever.
The family extends its immense gratitude to Alex, Mikayla, Hailie at the Veteran's Home, and Angie and all the friends at Fairfield Village for their tireless compassion and service on behalf of our mother.
