Virginia Reberg Gladwell, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died January 12, 2018 from conditions incident to old age. She was 95. Mother was born on January 9, 1923 in Ogden, Utah. Her family moved to Butte, Montana, where she spent her early childhood. Prior to junior high school, her father moved the family to Ogden, where mother spent all of her teenage and adult years. She graduated with the first graduating class from Ogden High School in 1940. Shortly thereafter, Mom met her future husband, Lou Gladwell, and they were married December 2, 1942 while Dad was home on leave from the Navy. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Initially, mom and dad lived in Daly City, California because dad was stationed at Treasure Island, 5 miles west of San Francisco. After the war, they returned to Utah to make Ogden their home. Mothers entire adult life was focused on raising her six children and participating in LDS church activities. It is fair to say that she was the CEO of the house, and made most of the important family decisions. Her grandchildren occupied her constantly, and she frequently would travel to California and Nebraska for extended visits. She worked at First Security Bank for 20 years, and lived off a modest retirement account and social security after her husband died in 1992. Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Gladwell; her parents, Nettie and Fred Reberg; her two brothers, Rick and Fred (Pink) Reberg. She is survived by her sister, Helen Pett; her four sons: Dennis (Kathie), David (Ruth Ann), Richard (Shirley)and Bruce (Ann) Gladwell; and her daughters Karen (Bruce) Williams and Lou Ann Mettra. A viewing will be held on Friday, Saturday, January 26, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitts, and Saturday prior to Services from 10:00 to 10:45 am Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
