Virginia L. Kenfield's Obituary

Virginia L. Kenfield October 27, 1920 - March 3, 2015 Virginia L. Kenfield, 94, passed away March 3, 2015. She was born October 27, 1920 in Elm Creek, NE to Clifford and Sylvia Armstrong. She graduated from Elm Creek High School. On November 16, 1941 she married her high school sweetheart, LaVern "Curly" Kenfield. Moms family was always her greatest joy. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma and "Grandma Great", she enriched all of our lives. After taking care of her kids and nieces, Mom began working at the IRS, meeting friends she remained close to the rest of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for the last 67 years, was active in UMW Faith Circle and often said Sunday was her favorite day of the week. She and Dad were in a large group of dear friends from church, who for many years frequently got together for fun activities. She was one of three remaining people still living from that beloved group. Mom enjoyed many things, long walks with Dad, bird watching, camping, music, watching the Price is Right with Roger, and cheering on her grandkids with the same exuberance (and volume) she used for the Jazz games. Virginia is survived by her son Ron Kenfield, Park City, UT; two daughters, Linda (Dave) Zitman, Norton, OH; Lori (John) Maki, Pleasant View, UT; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, her sister Anita Alberti, Worden, MT, and her brother Roger Armstrong, Roy, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter-in law Gayle, her sister Martha, and her brother Stanley. We are very grateful to the Meadows staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living for their loving care of Mom.
