Virginia M. Stowers, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her sons home in Salt Lake City, Utah the evening of October 26, 2016 in the arms of her loving family. She was born November 23, 1937 in Ogden, Utah to Oreste Marocchi and Florence Alberts. She was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah graduating from Ogden High School and Weber State College. She married Rex Stowers on August 27, 1958 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was an active member of the Washington Terrace 9th Ward and held several callings throughout the years; she maintained a strong testimony of the gospel and her faith in Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a love of crafts and ceramics but, nothing surpassed her love for animals. She spent her life rescuing every animal that came by the house and donated monthly to rescue charities in hopes of improving every animals life. She was a very kind, gentle, loving and compassionate woman who had a great sense of humor and loved pulling pranks on others. She spent a life time enjoying the company and friendship of the ladies in her Club. She spent much of her life working in the medical field; she enjoyed the many patients, friends and co-workers she met throughout the years.She is survived by her children: Mark A. Stowers, M.D. (Mindy), Christy Douglas (Scott), Valerie Fackrell (Jim); brothers, Daniel Marocchi (Roxanne), Jerry Marocchi; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex and her parents Oreste and Florence. Funeral Services will be held at 1100 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends and family may call on Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. She would be honored with a donation in her name to the Best Friends Animal Society.
