Wanda Hazen Clontz's Obituary

Wanda Hazen Clontz, age 90, died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at PeachTree Place in West Haven, due to heath issues related to age. She was born on March 18, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Hazen III and Sadie Catmull Hazen. She has two sisters, Donna Collins and Barbara Wood. She attended school in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School in 1942. She married Lowell R. Clontz on June 8, 1943, in Ogden Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 24, 1967. They were married 58 years until his death in 2001. She worked for the Civil Service at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1976 after 25 years of service. She has served faithfully in many church callings, including Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She and Lowell served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the office of the Ogden Utah Mission from 1990-1991. She lived in Weber County for her entire life, raising one daughter and two sons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, watching sports, sewing and relaxing at the family cabin on the South Fork of the Ogden River. She had a passion for maintaining an orderly home and yard. Family and friends were always welcome to stop in for a visit and dessert. She is survived by her children Margie (Michael) Draper, Carmel, Indiana; Robert L. (Linda) Clontz, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Brad H (Terri) Clontz, West Haven, Utah. She has 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell R. Clontz; by her parents; sister, Barbara Wood; and granddaughter, Sadie Clontz. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, April 26, 2014, 11:00 AM, at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends and family may visit at the mortuary from 6:00 8:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
