On Saturday, July 23, 2016, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt returned home to our Heavenly Father at the age of 89, one month from finishing her 90th year. We will miss her greatly as the Matriarch of our family and look forward to being with her as a forever family. Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She was always an example of faith, patience, love, service and testimony. She never complained and always smiled. Wanda was born August 19, 1926 in Midvale, Utah to Golden Holt Farmer and Eleanor Kelsey Skinner. She grew up in Boise, Idaho and graduated from Boise High School. At the age of 21, she served a full time Spanish speaking mission, to Texas. She attended BYU and while there met her sweetheart, Joseph Gish Wood and was married on August 27, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of six children, Kirk Joseph (Ginger) of Beavercreek, OR; Randy Carlyle (Juliana) of Farmington; Blair Jeffrey of Wilsonville, OR; Michele Kaylene Pyper of Phoenix, AZ; Craig Harlan (deceased); and Celeste Marie Aho of Tucson, AZ. She is survived by her sister, Naomi Hargreaves, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, one brother and son, Craig. The family would like to express deep appreciation to the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful for their love and tender care of our beautiful mother. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 5:00 to 5:45 PM.
