IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Whitworth Fontaine
Bird Jr.
June 23, 1932 – January 13, 2024
On January 13th, 2024, the world lost a remarkable man, Whitworth Fontaine Bird Jr., M.D., at the age of 91.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 23rd, 1932, Whitworth's life was a journey of dedication – to his family, his patients, and his passion for medicine. After graduating from Wesleyan University and Cornell University Medical College, he embraced a career in medicine that took him across the United States, touching countless lives.
Whitworth's love for travel and cycling was only surpassed by his devotion to his family. He was a beacon of humor, strength, and honorable values, often found sharing a laugh or a scolding over family dinners, even during tough times.
Whitworth leaves behind a legacy of love in his daughter J. Michele, grandchildren Kellie and Suzanne, great-grandchild Kayden, and brother John.
He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Suzanne, his parents, Whitworth Sr. And Bertha, his brother, Bob, and his son, Whit.
Join us to celebrate Whitworth's life on January 27th at Leavitt's Mortuary in Ogden, Utah, at 11:00 am.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mt. Ogden Health & Rehabilitation, as well as Ogden Regional for their care and compassion during Dr. Bird's final days.
