William "Bill" Ashdown

 

William “Bill” Ashdown, 85 of Ogden, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on October 12, 2022. Bill was born in Auckland, New Zealand on January 11, 1937, to Raymond and Lillas Ashdown.

 

He married his sweetheart Gloria May Lewis in 1956. Together they raised six children: Dawn (Blair), Bruce (Chris), Laurel (Melvin), Michael (Qui), Dannette (Kevin) and Tony (Rekka). He longed for the day to be reunited with his sweetheart who proceeded him in death.

 

Bill was always entrepreneurial and owned several businesses, he was a master butcher. He could win over any customer and whistled with happiness when he worked.

 

Bill was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he wanted to make Utah his home to raise his family. He decided to immigrate to America with his family to be close to the church. He was truly patriotic with loved America. His testimony was very powerful, and he loved to share it.

 

Bill had a gift to make you feel like the most important person in the room. Family was everything to Bill and he was a beloved Granddad with the best hugs.

 

Services will be held on October 22, 2022, 11:00am at Washington Terrace Chapel 4700 S 200 E, Ogden with a viewing starting at 10:00am-10:45am beforehand.

 

Interment service to be followed at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th Street, Ogden.
