William F. Colvell, age 89, passed away July 26th at his home in South Ogden. He was born July 9, 1925, the oldest son of Mary Stephens and William F. Colvell. He was a lifelong resident of Weber County.
He spent a lot of time in his youth working alongside his father on the farm. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served during WWII in the South Pacific.
He had many hobbies and enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles and old cars. He worked many jobs during his lifetime which included Wheelwright Construction, Zolene Draperies, Marquardt, Weber School District, Jetway, and Weber County Library. He was a very hard worker. He was good at fixing all kinds of things.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, rafting, and vacationing with his family. He volunteered and had many friends at the Golden Hours Senior Center in Ogden. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He married Sally Ann Blakley June 9, 1950. They had three children; Fred (Jana) Colvell, Deborah Schrader, and Brad (Susan) Colvell. He has 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and a grandson.
The family would like to thank his neighbors Lisa and Jake, Brian, the Randalls, home teachers, the Moyles, and his nurse, Bonnie, from Legacy Home Care for their support.
