William "Bill" Albert GriffinOgden-William Albert Griffin, 69, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Bill was born in Riverside, California on May 17, 1943 to Reese Albert and Zena Graser Griffin. He married Suzanne Millspaw on June 19, 1968 in the Oakland LDS Temple. They had nine children. Bill graduated from San Benito High School then served an LDS mission to the Western Canadian Mission. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic. While serving in the army he met his wife; they resided in California for 10 years. Later, Bill worked for Kier Management Corporation in Ogden, Utah for 27 years. He enjoyed serving everyone around him. Bill loved working outdoors and had a gift for reaching out to those in need. He served in many church capacities, including an ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple, which he loved dearly. Bill is survived by his dear wife, Suzanne, Ogden; eight of his children: Jennifer (Brad) Ewing, Ogden; Lauren (Eric) Barnes, Ogden; Tricia Griffin, Ogden; Mary (Cory) Calvin, Hooper; Alecia Griffin, Roy; Darren Griffin, Ogden; Matthew (Natausha) Griffin, Layton; Callee Griffin, Ogden. He and his wife have 12 grandchildren, with another granddaughter expected in June; two brothers in California: Ben (LaRae) Griffin, Allan (Ann) Griffin; a sister-in-law: DaNita Griffin, Rigby, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Shaun, his mother and father-in-law, and one brother Norman. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Cliff 3rd Ward Chapel, 236 Porter Ave., Ogden. A viewing will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Church.
