Obituary

Williamina S Ericksen of Layton City, UT, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 19th 2026, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family at the age of 85.

Williamina Newell Beaton Brown Stevenson Ericksen, was born December 29, 1940 in Glasgow Scotland to Thomas Stevenson and Margaret Brown.

She immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 to become a nanny and obtained her US citizenship in 1973.

She graduated from Kippen Balfron High School, Logan & Johnson Pre-Nursing and Weber State College. Working at the

University of Utah, the old St Benedict Hospital ending her career at the Humana Hospital Davis North in Layton after 31 yrs.

She married Herbert L Ericksen in 1963 in New York, later moving to SLC, Granger and permanently residing in Layton.

Some of her hobbies were fishing, camping, sewing, traveling, collecting dolls, visiting various Desert Industries, talking to anyone she could while shopping and Genealogy.

As her health declined Ina was blessed with visits from family and friends. The family expresses deep gratitude to all who spent time with her offering blessings, comfort and compassion.

She was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Margaret Stevenson, Steve and Ina Kwabish, and Sandy Brown

She is survived by a daughter Tina (Roger) Johnson, a son Stefan Ericksen, sister Margaret Brown, brother Kenneth (Isobel) Stevenson, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. located at Lindquist's Layton Memorial Park, 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton.
