Wilmer E Kenley Jr, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2025. He was born on July 29, 1938, to Wilmer E Kenley Sr and Mae Ellen Chambers in Ogden, Utah.
He attended Ogden High School. Where he met Beth Mae Fife. They were married on July 15, 1955, in Ogden, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Wilmer worked for Moulding Construction laying hard wood flooring right after being married. He also joined the Utah National Guard shortly after. He was the "number 2" man on the 8" self-propelled howitzer. He was stationed in Ogden, Utah with the 222nd Field Artillery Battalion. Also doing a short stint with the Army Reserves.
He later went on to spend a short time driving a bulldozer at a housing project in Sunset, Utah. After that he got a job with Marveon Sign Company doing sheet metal work. He then moved on to work for Young Electric Sign Company as a sign installer, sheet metal worker, and ending up as Production Manager. He retired after 40 years with them.
Wilmer loved to go hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed doing welding and sheet metal jobs for family and friends.
Wilmer was a loving spouse, father and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.
Wilmer is survived by his two sons, Bryan Kenley and Jeff Kenley, his two grandkids, Brittany (RJ) Hooper and Jesse (Kara) Kenley, three great grandkids Jaxon Hooper, Jason Hooper and Kole Kenley, and his sister Tanya Robinson.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beth Mae Fife and his parents Wilmer E Kenley Sr and Mae Ellen Chambers and his brother Keith Kenley.
Funeral Services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary at 836 36th St. in Ogden, Utah, on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at 11:00am with a short viewing prior at 10:00am.
