IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zachary
Sorenson
December 4, 1985 – October 4, 2024
Zachary Skyler Sorenson, aged 38, passed away on October 4th, 2024, in American Fork, Utah. He was born on December 4th, 1985.
Zachary was known for his kind and caring nature and was deeply cherished by those around him. From a young age, Zachary faced significant challenges due to disabilities, that emerged early in his life. Despite these disabilities, he found joy and comfort in the presence of his family and the simple pleasures of life. He was particularly fond of fishing, a hobby he embraced as a child alongside his father. Zachary's love for movies, dinning out at Chuck A Rama, along with enjoying special dinners with his "Fam Bam" were sources of happiness and warmth throughout his life.
Zachary was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he found a community of faith and support. His journey included compassionate care from various group homes and eventually the Utah State Development Center, which provided him with the necessary assistance as his needs grew.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Ken Gardner, who offered love akin to that of a father, and the dedicated staff at Ness Group Home, and the Utah State Development Center for their unwavering care and support.
Zachary was predeceased by his father, Boyd Sorenson; his sister, Heather Sorenson Wright; his sister, Amber Sorenson; and his grandparents Ronald & Verona Burton and Fred and Jean Sorenson. He is survived by his loving mother, Jan Price and her husband, Willard; his brother Chad Sorenson and his wife, Karri; his nephew, Jaden Sorenson and his fiancé Kaylee; along with nieces Joey Wheatley, Madison Wheatley, Shaylyn Sorenson, Aspen Sorenson; and grand-niece Oakleigh Mae Sorenson and grand-nephew Brixton Sorenson.
A graveside service will be held by Leavitt's Mortuary at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Ave, Ogden, Utah on October 26th at 1:00 PM.
Zachary's life and legacy will be honored and remembered by all who knew him as a beacon of kindness and resilience.
