IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zona G.
Taylor
March 8, 1929 – February 22, 2025
Zona Gale Taylor passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in St. George, Utah at the age of 95. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Rigby, Idaho, to Evan LeRoy Morgan and Rena Alice Hale.
On October 1, 1948, Zona married the love of her life, David Hyrum Taylor, in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George, Utah Temple on February 14, 1997. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and faith, living in Riverdale, Utah; Ivins and St. George, Utah; and Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming.
Zona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; her son, Lynn Taylor; and her grandson, Bowdy Manning. She is survived by her three daughters: Gale (Robert) Child, Sheryl (Robert) Manning, and Robin (Jerry) Rose; as well as 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Evan (Faye) Morgan, and her sister, Ena Horman Merrill.
A proud graduate of Rigby High School, Zona was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found great joy in serving one full-time mission and several service missions in the St. George area.
Zona and David were avid travelers who embraced adventure and exploration. After David's passing in 2002, Zona continued to see the world, making memories wherever she went. She had a deep love for fishing, golfing, and reading. One of the family's most cherished traditions was spending summers at a beautiful stone home in Spencer, Idaho, which Zona and David, along with their close-knit group of friends and family purchased and renovated. Those summers remain treasured memories for her family.
Zona lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Her legacy of faith, family, and friendship will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
