Zorka Daich Divich passed peacefully early in the morning of Christmas Eve. She was born November 22, 1912 in Wisconsin to Milka and Stojan Daich. Shortly after, her family moved to Miami, Arizona. At an early age, after her parents passed away, she moved with her brothers to Salt Lake City where they lived until World War II separated them. After her graduation from the University of Utah, she became the librarian at the Uintah Elementary school and worked there until her marriage to Nicholas R. Divich. She then moved to a new home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Carnegie Mellon University earning her Masters Degree in Library Science. After her husband passed away, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio and worked in the public school libraries until her retirement in 1979. Her love for the mountains and Zion was ever constant and in 1990 she moved back to Ogden to be close to her beloved "clan". Zorka led an active life as a volunteer docent and teaching Spanish to senior friends and in her church, the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Reading, world travel, hand crafts, and the arts were her main interests in life.She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Steve and Mitchell Daich. She is survived by her sister-in-law Trudy Daich, and nieces and nephews: Judith George of California, Utahns Gregory (Tami) Daich, Paulette (Lyle) Smith, Mickey (Sonya) Daich, Mike Daich, Jon (Almarie) Daich, David Daich, as well as Steven Daich and Barbara Daich of Illinois. Various great nieces and nephews also cherish memories of her. She wanted to express her sincere appreciation to the staff of Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Hospice for their loving care and friendship.A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Ave, Ogden, at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 31st. The family will meet friends in the adjacent Tuttle Hall after the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital on Fairfax Road at Virginia St., SLC, UT 84103 or to the Altar Guild of the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Avenue, Ogden, UT 84401.
