Mary passed away peacefully at home of natural causes surrounded by her daughter, nephew Davey Elmer, and his wife Micki.
Mary Marguerite Bonnett was born June 10, 1936, in Richmond, Indiana to Lester Irvin Bonnett and Lillie Mae Morrill. She was the eighth of eleven children. As a child she lived in Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio before the family eventually settled in Utah where she would meet and marry the love of her life.
She married R. D. Elmer on May 24, 1952. They were blessed with three children, Ivan, Susie, and Jimmy, but always hoped for a bigger family.
Mom loved to sing or whistle a tune. She enjoyed dancing, drawing, painting, crocheting, and bowling. In her later years she enjoyed playing games on her tablet. She was a very talented lady.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, R. D. Elmer; one son, James (Jimmy) I.; her parents, and nine siblings.
She is survived by her children Ivan D. (Teresa), Pocatello, Idaho; Susie, Ogden, Utah; four grandchildren: Jennifer Elmer (Ogden); Shane (Martha) Elmer, Fayette, Utah; Corey (Jamie) Elmer, Murray, Utah; and Jamey (Stan) Joseph, Murray, Utah; and ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one sister Anna Jean (Ron) Dudash, Hooper, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was the most loving and caring person to everyone she met with a strong love of family. She will be greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to thank Tammie Scott for her tender and loving care of Grams for the last few years.
